The Children's Advocacy Center of North and Northwest Cook County is a not-for-profit organization providing services for children who are suspected victims of sexual abuse and/or severe physical abuse, and their families. The Center is seeking a Child and Family Advocate to work at its Northbrook location as part of a multidisciplinary team of professionals responding to reports of abuse. The Child and Family Advocate completes family assessments in order to identify family resources and areas of need; provides crisis intervention services for child victims of abuse, and their non-offending family members; offers on-going support and case management services; provides court advocacy, including court notification and preparation, accompanying children and families to court hearings, and advocating with the criminal justice system on behalf of clients; and provides client families with referrals and linkages to counseling and other community resources and services.
When appropriate, the Advocate may provide individual, family and/or group counseling services for child survivors of abuse and their non-offending family members.
MA/MSW in social work, psychology, counseling or a related human service field with experience in the field of child welfare, services for victims of sexual assault/abuse or domestic violence, or other related work experience. Bilingual (Spanish-English) preferred but not required.
