Assists Healthcare providers and staff to provide high quality clinical care through various clinic duties. Assist in preparing patients for all medical services.
Maintains established policies and procedures, objectives, quality assessment program, and safety, environmental and infection control standards.

Takes patients’ vital signs; prepares patients for examinations, giving them instructions based upon the reason for the visit.
Performs initial interviews with new patients, obtaining pertinent medical history information for use by the healthcare provider during examinations
Assists health care provider with examinations, procedures and other processes related to direct patient care. Obtains consent for procedures as necessary.
Performs Phlebotomy, Point of Care Testing (POCT) and EKG’s in accordance with established standards, practices, policies and procedures.
Maintains daily lab, quality control logs and other document logs as instructed.
Administers immunizations and injections as ordered by the healthcare provider and records appropriately in the medical record. Responsible for proper storage of immunizations. Maintains temperature logs as necessary (i.e. Immunization/medication refrigerator).
Keeps inventory and orders monthly supply of immunizations through Vaccines for Children (VFC) program as well as keeps up-to-date inventory of logbook.
Maintains sample medication closet and logs.
Translates as necessary.
Participates in Community Outreach Events as deemed appropriate by Supervisor.
Cleans and prepares rooms between procedures. Monitors and restocks supplies; ensures proper functioning of equipment. Notifies supervisor of malfunctioning equipment and completes corrective action log.
May be required to act as back-up to Front Desk Staff (Patient Service Representatives).
May be required to handle cash collections and/or to cosign daily co-pay totals.
May perform general office duties such as copying, faxing, answering phones and making appointments.
May verify insurance information in accordance with policy.
Collects specimens as directed and completes requisitions for laboratory analysis.
Demonstrates sensitivity to patients’ comfort and privacy and expresses interest in their progress. Maintains a safe, comfortable and therapeutic environment for patients and their families.
Triages patient, physician and pharmacy phone messages and keeps precise documentation of all patient encounters.
Files lab and x-ray reports and reports abnormal results to health care providers.
Notifies patients with normal labs values as instructed by health care provider.
Attends and participates in staff meetings and attends other meetings as assigned.
Cooperates with other personnel to achieve department objectives and maintains good employee relations.
Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, in-service meetings and workshops.
participate in outreach activities between 3 to 5 times per year; including but not limited to the Annual Fundraiser, Community Garden(s), and Health Fairs.
Performs other related duties as assigned or requested in a safe manner.
