The Director of Individual Giving is a senior professional who will work collaboratively with the Chief Development Officer (CDO) to manage and grow an individual giving program with an emphasis on major gifts. The Director will be responsible for planning, managing, evaluating a program that includes annual, capital, endowed and major gifts. The primary activities will be externally focused and the Director’s effectiveness will be evaluated on the ability to achieve financial goals, meet metrics and collaborate with colleagues across the institution to advance the organization’s vision and mission.
Six to seven or more years of progressively responsible experience and demonstrated success in development with an emphasis on cultivation, solicitation and stewarding major gifts.
Demonstrated success as a collaborative, entrepreneurial and effective leader with the ability to build development programs and communicate the organization’s vision, values and strategies.
A proven commitment to and extensive knowledge of fundraising principles and practices.
Demonstrated ability to build and maintain positive relationships, take initiative, set priorities and handle multiple projects efficiently and effectively.
Superior writing, verbal communications and public speaking skills.
Familiarity with planned giving programs.
Experience with donor databases. Raiser’s Edge experience strongly preferred.
