Associate’s degree within the HVAC field, EPA certification, and five years HVAC experience are required. Teaching experience in higher education and NATE certification preferred. Working knowledge of current technologies in the areas of residential and commercial air conditioning and controls is required. Candidates with controls and Building Automation Systems experience and/or certification will be assured consideration.
Candidates should have the knowledge base to teach via new instructional formats (internet, 2-way video, etc.) or be willing to receive training on new formats.
The HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) instructional duties include planning of course materials, preparation of lectures, meeting of all scheduled classes, clearly informing students of course requirements, and fairly and impartially grading all students in accordance with the standards established by the institution. He/she will establish and maintain office hours, contribute to faculty committee assignments, and participate in program, division, and college faculty meetings. He/she will participate in recruiting events and attend training through the National Coalition of Certification Centers (NC3).
