Ensures appropriate coverage and provides supervision to residential units and group homes. Oversees Master Schedule in cooperation with Milieu Manager and Association Vice President of Operations. Ensures additional staff/supervisor/crisis management support is in place when needed.
Demonstrates competence in implementation and oversight of Agency Behavior Treatment Plan (ABTP); provides guidance, on-the-job training/mentoring to the direct care staff to ensure adherence to Agency Behavior Treatment Plan expectations for proactive structure, milieu management, de-escalation interventions and crisis management.
The Milieu supervisor or designee provides support and regularly tours our Lake Villa campus units and conducts/delegates regular on-sight visits of our off-campus sites as well, for non-crisis and crisis support, needed breaks, ensuring diligent execution of youth supervision and milieu stability, crisis situation support and safety/well- being of residents and staff. Reviews CCTV surveillance in real time to assess shift management and crisis responses.
Functions as agency credentialed supervisor and ensures Licensed Practitioners (LPs) are summoned within established timelines for post restraint/seclusion well-being check and initial youth debrief. Conducts initial well-being and debrief check-in with staff. Consults with Administrator on Duty (AOD) and/or Associate Vice President of Operations to determine need for extraordinary intervention (non-emergency related to SASS and/or local police). Ensures all staff working are trained and aware to obtain immediate first responder support in emergency situations. Ensures appropriate documentation is completed, collected and appropriately routed at the end of shift.
Works with Associate Vice President of Operations and Director of Safety/Risk Management & Support Services to proactively prepare for weather or other situations that could be disruptive to needed shift- change coverage. Executes and coordinates appropriate shift-change communication with both prior and upcoming shift leadership. Completes the supervisor report and forwards to Safety & Security Specialist.
Works with Associate Vice President of Operations or designee and Director of Safety/Risk Management & Support Services or designee to execute agency response in emergency situations and facilitate appropriate collaboration/cooperation with authorities and community-based partners during high-risk and emergency incidents.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology or related mental health field or equivalent experience. Exceptions will be considered based on agency need and experience related to position.
Two years residential treatment experience.
Current Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) certification strongly desired. TCI Train-the-Trainer Certification (must obtain within 6 months).
Experience utilizing various PC-based software
First Aid/CPR certified within 90 days of employment.
Per DCFS regulations, candidate must be 21 years of age and have a valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
