We are currently in search of a Human Resources Manager for a Social Services Organization. The position is based in the Western Suburbs of Chicago, IL. This is a temporary, full-time assignment.

The Human Resources Manager will be responsible for full operations of the human resource department of the organization. S/He must be skilled at overall administration coordination, the evaluation of the human resources function, and extremely organized. This role reports directly to the Executive Director and will oversee the build out of the Human Resources department. The ideal candidate will be both strategic and detail-oriented and understand how the HR function supports the overall organization and its mission to serve.
Our client is a Social Services Organization that works to support adults and families locate the proper services for their needs. This position will contribute to improving the organization in order to achieve its strategic planning goals.
Our Ideal Candidate:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field, Master’s Degree preferred
5-7 years of specific Human Resources experience
Knowledge of Human Resources processes and practices; employment law/compliance, compensation, organizational development, leadership development, benefits, risk management, etc.
Previous data analysis and reporting experience
Consultative and collaborative mindset, organizational and leadership skills, strong written and verbal communication, relationship management, and critical thinking skills
Experience in change management is a plus
Knowledge of nonprofit tax paperwork, 990s, 1042s, etc.
Forthright, not shy, self-driven, energetic
Able to work within a complex, matrixed organization, a quick thinker
Attention to detail, procedures, processes, and policies
Hardworking, mission-focused, able to manage multiple projects
Ability to multi-task with a strong awareness of deadlines, adaptable
Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team
Commitment to improving processes and procedures
Ability to see “big picture” while managing day to day accounting, human resources and operations functions within the organization
