The DuPage County Health Department is seeking a full-time Psychiatric Services Liaison to work within its Behavioral Health Service Unit. Responsibilities will include:
Providing assistance with tasks supporting behavioral health services operations
Making updates in the electronic client medical record
Ensuring that release and consent forms have been signed by clients
Running various status and productivity reports using the electronic medical record and other programs such as Microsoft Excel
Assisting psychiatric clients by following up before and/or after appointments, scheduling follow-up appointments, and assisting with discharge and linkage to other services
Supporting prescribers by linking and collaborating with primary care physicians
Providing a professional level of customer service to clients and other medical providers
Setting up tele-psychiatry rooms with appropriate supplies and equipment
Monitoring supplies and coordinating reordering, including the secure storage of prescriber pads and paper
Adhering to department guidelines for attendance and punctuality
Participating in emergency response activities as assigned
Maintaining confidentiality of privileged information and adhering to patient privacy laws
Demonstrating sensitivity and understanding of other ethnic groups and cultures
Completion of some college coursework in social work or human services and three (3) years of experience in a health care office setting which involved a high degree of public contact, use of medical terminology and use of an electronic medical record system; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
