The Human Resources Manager, a full time position, will report to the Chief Financial Officer/Vice President of Finance and Administration. This position will be responsible for all human resources activities for the Museum’s staff of 70+ full time and part time employees. The Human Resource Manager will work closely with the Museum’s President & CEO, Director of Finance, and interface directly with all departments within the Museum.
Key responsibilities include, but may not be limited to:
Managing daily administration and annual enrollment for all benefit programs, including 401(k), medical, dental, vision, life, disability, and FSA.
Managing FMLA administration and compliance.
Completing paperwork for external agencies including worker’s compensation claims, unemployment claims, verification of employment, etc.
Managing recruiting efforts, including posting open positions, screening applicants, scheduling and conducting interviews, and conducting reference and background checks.
Managing the on-boarding process for new employees.
Addressing personnel related issues and tracking employee performance documentation.
Participating in disciplinary and termination meetings and conducting exit interviews.
Maintaining and updating personnel files, including electronic files in the Paylocity system.
Maintaining and updating the employee handbook.
Creating and updating organization charts and job descriptions.
Overseeing the employee review process.
Organizing and coordinating museum-wide employee communication, training and events.
Ensuring museum actions conform to employee handbook and labor laws and working with legal counsel as necessary to discuss human resources related issues.
Creating and enforcing policies and procedures, as appropriate.
