Development Associate is primarily responsible for implementing the fundraising strategies in the areas of events, corporate donations/sponsorships, Stewardship and cultivation of events and development and implantation of the annual event fundraising plan in coordination with the Director of Development.
Manage and execute Center of Concern’ssignature events including but not limited to the Oktoberfest, Blarney Bash, Coffee, Classics and Connections, Adopt-a-Senior.
Identify, contact and attain corporate sponsor and donations, send event and sponsorship opportunities, develop sponsorship packages.
Manage event budgets, set and meet event goals.
Secure permits, insurance policies, and other legal documents for events.
Establish event and planning timelines, ensure all deadlines are met.
Work closely with Development Director to establish, meet and measure the marketing and objectives of events.
Assist with program events and development work as needed and requested.
Plan and Coordinate Center of Concern’s Advisory Board members and meetings.

Education / Experience Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree or minimum 2 years event planning and execution experience
Knowledge and Skills
Self-confident, detail oriented, highly organized, and have experience using internet and database (both online and internal) and other current technical sources to locate, search to locate biographical, financial and philanthropic information
Very good level of computer literacy and experience required including familiarity with Sage Fundraising software. Computer skills: experience and knowledge of computer operation; knowledge of Microsoft (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.) and database applications
Ability to calculate figures and amounts and develop budgets and managing all event funded programs
Ability to read and interpret documents, ability to write reports and correspondence, ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees
Must possess an ability to work well under pressure and ability to seek and synthesize information and communicate in a compelling and succinct form
A solid understanding of budgets as they relate to event goals and activities
Proven accuracy and attention to detail; focus on core objectives
Ability to effectively organize, maintain deadlines, scheduling plus handle high level of pressure and critical decision making
Displays professionalism by listening and, approaching others tactfully, works well under pressure and manages time effectively to meet deadlines
Should possess some of the following competencies: Analytical; creative (design and submit appealing presentations); attentive to detail; respond promptly and timely event needs; adapt to change; excellent documentation and follow-up
Strong ability to follow deadlines, policies, and procedures (completing the task correctly and on time; plus prioritize and plan work activity in an orderly fashion and in advance of deadlines.
Ensures work responsibilities and deadlines are covered in absence, prompt attendance to meetings and appointments
