Who We Are:
Caris Pregnancy Counseling & Resources is a faith-based nonprofit organization serving women who are facing unplanned pregnancy. Our mission is to see both women and children thrive during and after unplanned pregnancy. We provide professional counseling and connect women to communities of support using a grace-filled approach. We provide our services free of charge. Services include pregnancy tests, ultrasounds, professional counseling, support groups, and connection to resources.
Lead Counselor, LCSW Reports to : Director of Programs
We are seeking a Lead Counselor to provide supervision and counseling on the client services team
Location: All Caris Counseling Sites Caris Counselors must exemplify a committed and consistent walk of Christian faith and dependence on Jesus. They must have a personal calling to ministry as well as the specific mission and vision of Caris. Counselors need to be in alignment with the grace filled approach utilized by Caris.
Serve as immediate supervisor for all Client Services staff
Lead all counselors in implementing a comprehensive counseling program based on best practices and ministry capability
In consultation with the Director of Programs, ensure that acceptable counseling practices and policies are adhered to and upheld
Oversee the planning and implementation of staff meetings that are led by the Client Services Team
Continually evaluate counseling program to ensure alignment with internal processes and best practices in the field; provide ongoing coaching to counselors on an as-needed basis.
Oversee the onboarding and usage of all unpaid Client Service staff including interns and volunteers. Ensure that these staff members are provided with appropriate supervision and direction.
Serve as a point person for Connection Group Leaders
Continually monitor the well- being of the counseling staff and in consultation with the Director of Programs, implement self-care strategies and opportunities when needed. ? Communicate with the Director of Programs staffing needs/improvement plan ? Assist with the planning and implementation of special events and activities
In alignment with Caris’ counseling model and the ethical standards of the field, provide impactful counseling and case management services to Caris clients
Implement all policies, procedures, and decisions set forth by the Board of Directors and Senior Leadership Team
Identify client need(s) and respond with counseling, referrals, follow-up and client support in line with the Caris mission
Lead Connection Group, workshops, and special events as needed
Build relationships with new community partners, church partners, and volunteers
Maintain positive working relationships with community agencies, churches, businesses, etc. for the purpose of securing client referrals and utilizing community resources for clients.
Actively engage potential clients by being present and knowledgeable of the Caris model of service
Represent the organization at events as needed
General Administrative Responsibilities
Maintain up to date and accurate client documentation for records
Coordinate effective and timely follow-up of all clients served
Troubleshoot and mediate jobsite conflicts ? Attend site specific staff meetings
Train and coach client service team on policies and procedures Assist with the coordination and management of group details and volunteer relations
Develop curricula on topics pertaining to client need
Receive and incorporate appropriate feedback into curriculum and programming
Make recommendations regarding client need
Oversee group leader training, development, and ongoing support
Engage in additional curriculum development and evaluation modules as directed
Qualifications & Experience
Master’s degree in Social Work with a LCSW in good standing. Candidate must have experience supervising counselors. Candidate will have sharp clinical skills/judgment with a solid theoretical orientation. Candidate will be well organized, able to work independently and possess strong communication skills.
