Single Room Housing Assistance Corporation (SRHAC)
The Front Desk Operator greets and handles all visitors program inquires; answering daily incoming telephone calls, accept all calls promptly; receive and record all submitted client's monthly rent; processing of all new applications; and assists with data entry in Client Management Database.
This position is located at our Plaza Arms Building: 501 N. Central Avenue Chicago, IL 60644
The Schedule for this position is Monday through Friday 8:30am-4:30pm

Operate the telephone system switchboard for organization.
Receive the public by phone or in person, providing information and responding to the inquires of our programs and the entire organization.
Maintain a detailed daily call log and enter in our Client Management Database.
Maintain client files and documents accurately.
Collect and Record Client's monthly rent.
Maintain the upkeep of all office equipment; fax, copier, postage machine.
Assist in the Application in-take process; distributing and retrieving of application forms to new prospects, ensuring that all required documents are received.
Perform required background checks on all applicants submitted by Case Manager's.
Work directly with office vendors with regards to supply orders, telephone system, and necessary repairs.
Assists in the preparation of SRHAC scheduled events; shopping for client events and board meetings; create and maintain sign-in sheets for all scheduled meetings/events.
The Schedule for this position is Monday through Friday 8:30am-4:30pm.
Must present a professional appearance.
Experience in reception or customer service preferred.
Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
Strong organizational skills and detailed oriented.
Proficiency in PC systems, including Microsoft Word and Excel, and ability to become proficient in other software packages and programs as necessary.
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Ability to lift and/or move up to fifteen pounds.
Works independently as well as an active team player.
Demonstrate high level of commitment to the mission, values, and goals of the organization.

The Single Room Housing Assistance Corporation (SRHAC), a City and HUD –funded 501(c) 3, was created in 1995 as a grassroots initiative by SRO operators/owners to bring together the for-profit, not-for-profit, and governmental sectors into a unique partnership to assist the SRO community in finding solutions to: (1) Help strengthen, preserve and protect Chicago’s SROs as vital, affordable housing...; (2) The help homeless and disabled needy individuals find SRO housing and connect with supportive services; (3) To help prevent single adults living in SROs from relapsing into homelessness by stabilizing and improving their lives; (4) To assist and advocate for SRO residents and SRO operators; (5) Top combat homelessness.
