The Illinois Collaboration on Youth is seeking a thoughtful self-starter to join our team as a full-time Project Director for Juvenile Justice Programs (40 hours/week).The Project Director is a member of the ICOY team, supporting the Juvenile Redeploy Illinois program and Illinois Juvenile Justice Commission’s development and implementation of a strategic plan to address Disproportionate Minority Contact (DMC).
Job responsibilities include:
Provide support to the Juvenile Redeploy Illinois program.Serve as the primary point of contact with the Redeploy Illinois Oversight Board and the Illinois Department of Human Services. Ensure prompt and satisfactory response to requests from these external “clients.”
Oversee and manage the Redeploy Focused program.Review applications, respond to inquiries from applicants, coordinate and convene review of applications with the Redeploy Focused subcommittee and County Review Committee, draft and administer approved subcontracts, provide reports to the Redeploy Illinois Oversight Board, manage the Redeploy Focused budget.
Manage the development and delivery of juvenile justice training and technical assistance to community-based providers for Redeploy Illinois sites including coordination around the implementation of Redeploy eCornerstone, all sites meetings, and other trainings based on feedback from Redeploy Illinois sites and/or the Redeploy Illinois Oversight Board.
Provide assistance to the Redeploy Illinois Oversight Board and subcommittees, which includes regular communication with board members, meeting preparation, recording meeting minutes, and providing follow up as needed.
Responsible for the fiscal management of ICOY’s Redeploy Illinois contract.Administer and manage subcontracts and provide fiscal reports to the Illinois Department of Human Services and the Redeploy Illinois Oversight Board.
Manage and update the Redeploy Illinois website. Post juvenile justice-related content, news, meeting materials, and information relevant to the Redeploy Illinois program.
Collaborate with the Training Director for completion of quarterly reports.
Communicate with the Policy and Communications team on Redeploy updates.
Ensure timely submission of all quarterly reports required by associated contracts.
Oversee ICOY’s work under its Juvenile Justice Training, Technical Assistance, and Support contract, serving as the primary point of contact with the Illinois Department of Human Services, the Illinois Juvenile Justice Commission, and ensuring prompt and satisfactory response to requests from these external “clients.”
Supervise staff working on juvenile justice projects, ensuring compliance with ICOY policies and completion of deliverables in a timely and quality manner.
Ensure coordination and support for all IJJC meetings, including development and maintenance of websites.
Support the IJJC in the development and implementation of a strategic plan to address DMC; Coordinate collection, review and analysis of state and local DMC data; serve as liaison with DMC staff at the federal Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention.
Oversee youth engagement and youth commissioner recruitment for the IJJC
Represent the mission of ICOY at all related events, meetings workshops and conferences.
A preferred candidate will possess the following:
Bachelor’s degree (required) Master’s (preferred)
1-2 years work experience in juvenile justice or youth services or in a non-profit environment strongly preferred
Excellent speaking and organizational skills are required
Proficient with content management systems and Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, Powerpoint
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Attention to detail and a professional attitude
