The School Transportation Driver acts as a responsible and reliable role model for the Youth by carrying out the task of driving youth to and from school each day throughout the school year. The School Transportation Driver supports, implements and upholds the policy and philosophy of the program and the Agency.
This is a part-time position. One schedule for this position is Monday through Friday 2pm-4pm. The second schedule is Monday through Friday 6:30am-8am and 2pm-4pm, while the youth are in school.

Provide safe transportation for Youth during scheduled shifts.
Manage the milieu in the van while transporting youth.
Communicate promptly and accurately within the program/Agency and with external bodies, i.e., scheduling conflicts with the manager or Coordinator- School Resources, program Day Coordinators, schools, receptionist, etc.
Communicate with school resources team about specific messages school personnel relay and/or any scheduling conflicts and/or delays in getting youth to school on time.
Record and coordinate Agency transportation paperwork (i.e. communication log, vehicle reports, etc.)
Employ all aspects of de-escalation and behavior management techniques as outlined in CPI protocol.
Learn, align with, and execute the treatment philosophies, modalities and practices of the Agency.
At least 21 years of age.
High School degree or GED
Practical experience working with youth in a work or volunteer setting.
A valid Illinois driver’s license, ability to drive a van, maintain a clear driving record, and retain driving approval through the department of Children and Family Services.
Regular and predictable attendance.

Ability to attend required Agency trainings and maintain necessary training compliance. Flexibility to attend daytime trainings or sessions outside of regularly scheduled hours.
