Reporting to the Director of Development, the Director of Annual Giving’s primary responsibility will be to develop, manage and supervise the annual appeal strategy, and manage annual social media fundraising campaigns, e-appeals and special projects such as #GivingTuesday to solicit gifts. This position will also manage a portfolio of donors and help with prospecting and creating a Major Gifts pipeline.
Duties & Responsibilities
Manage Annual Appeals
Establish an annual plan for Direct Mail and E-Appeals, with goals, tracking and reporting
Write appeal letters and acknowledgements
Work with Marketing/Communications Manager on collateral materials for appeals
Segment donor lists
Set ask amounts in coordination with DOD
Track and analyze results from solicitations and other initiatives, including retention
Write and manage targeted email fundraising campaigns, including Giving Tuesday campaign
Produce and analyze key progress reports
Oversee batch reports, gift entry and gift acknowledgements, which is administered by the Development Services Manager
Coordinate with Development Services Manager for the accuracy of data and database maintenance to ensure that annual fund strategies are fully informed and supported by a current donor and prospect data
Build a moves management program
Manage Portfolio of Donors
Qualify new prospects
Steward, solicit and cultivate a portfolio of donors whose average giving is $1,000-$2,500 annually. Including but not limited to calls, tours, visits and moves management in coordination with other staff
Create a Pipeline for Major Gifts
Analyze donor lists to help feed the major gifts program, moving them from direct mail donors to reoccurring or major gifts
Attend Development Events.

Requires necessary time management and organizational skills. Detail-oriented.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat and development database software such as Raiser’s Edge, E-Tapestry and Donor Perfect.
Ability to effectively represent the Marillac St. Vincent Family Services’ mission required.
Must have a valid Illinois driver’s license and a good driving record.
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university.
