The person in this role will be responsible for training, coaching, and providing technical assistance to all the teachers and support staff. The person will assist in the completion of the annual self-assessment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: (These include but are not limited to the following. The company reserves the right to add to, delete, change or modify the essential duties and responsibilities at any time.)
1. Visit schools regularly to coach teachers in the implementation of the education curriculum. 2. Enter education records in the computerized tracking system as required by funders. 3. Monitor education files and the computarized tracking system regularly to ensure accurate record keeping. 4. Monitor for all educational and diverse learner Head Start compliance issues while coaching staff to become self-sufficient and able to self-monitor. 5. Track and follow up with findings within required timeframes. 6. Complete classroom observations once a month. 7. Provide training, coaching, and technical assistance to staff and directors on all identified needs. 8. Updates and implements annual management plans. 9. Assist teachers and directors with the Diverse Learners referral process. 10. Support parents during the Diverse Learners evaluation process. 11. Support staff in the coordination of Diverse Learner services and interdisciplinary team meetings. 12. Create tools and protocols that will assist site staff at carrying out duties, implementing changes, and remaining in compliance. 13. Assess classroom equipment and materials regularly. 14. Support site based staff in completing annual self-assessments. 15. Follow up on all non-compliance issues. 16. Provide on-site workshops/professional development to staff and parents as needed 17. Identify and address issues that affect quality programming and/or compliance at any assigned site/school. 18. Assist with other content areas as needed. 19. Represents Chicago Commons on assigned committees. 20. Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: (To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. )
1. Must be organized and detail-oriented. 2. Must be proficient in Word, Excel, and data-base software (at a minimum). 3. Must be a fast learner and good at following very detailed instructions. 4. Must be a warm, welcoming person with the ability to provide the highest level of customer service. 5. Must be self-motivated. 6. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment under pressure. 7. Must be able to maintain confidentiality. 8. Ability to communicate in Spanish is a plus. 9. Must be able to travel to multiple schools in diverse communities. 10. Must possess a valid driver license, current Insurance, and have access to a car.
Bachelor’s Degree (B.A) in Education and a minimum of 5 years teaching experience
