Chicago Commons is searching for Teacher III for various locations in the west side of Chicago , Pilsen and back of the yards.
Functions as an active member of the classroom teaching team. Assists the Head Teacher in planning, implementing and evaluating activities for young children. Assumes additional classroom responsibility while another staff is on break or lunch. Participates in team meetings, when schedule allows. Assist in planning, implementing and evaluating classroom activities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to the following. The company reserves the right to add to, delete, change or modify the essential duties and responsibilities at any time.
1. Assists the Head Teacher in planning, implementing and evaluating developmentally appropriate activities for young children including the following activities: Self-Image; Language/Literacy development; Music and Movement; Social Studies; Science; Math; Art; Large/Small Motor activities; and in-depth projects. 2. Assumes additional classroom responsibility while other staff is on break or lunch. 3. Assists in supervision and interaction with children during all activities, both inside and outside the classroom. 4. Participates in team meetings, when schedule allows. 5. Assists in planning, implementing and evaluating classroom activities. 6. Assists in preparation for lunch. 7. Assists in preparation of classroom and classroom clean up. 8. Other duties as assigned.
Flexible to take on duties as assigned
Education and Credentials:
Must have a high school diploma or a high school equivalence certificate.
Experience with early age children highly preferred.
Preschool or Infant toddler CDA is preferred, or commitment to acquire within first year of employment.
