De La Salle Institute, a college-preparatory Catholic secondary school located on Chicago’s near south side, is looking for a competent Event Manager to oversee and organize events that will make an impact on a target audience. Position reports to Director of Development. The Event Manager is responsible for managing events and ensuring deadlines and budgets are adhered to so that events are successful and cost-effective, paying attention to budget and time constraints.
Qualifications: Three or more years of fundraising and event management experience; ability to manage multiple projects; and practiced participation in recruiting and managing large volunteer groups. Proficiency with personal computers and related software, especially MS Office and Raiser’s Edge; strong creative, oral and written communication skills are essential; good presentation skills; sense of humor and team spirit; professional demeanor and ability to commit to De La Salle’s mission. Social media experience preferred.
