About: Founded in 1897, the Alliance Française de Chicago is the second largest French cultural and learning center in the country dedicated to art, literature, language, film, cooking and education.
Purpose: Reports directly to the Director of Major Gifts and supports all aspects of the Alliance fundraising activities, including, but not limited to: operational support of the Woman’s Board and Board of Directors, daily management of gift entry and management, database oversight, event planning and campaign assistance.
Assist Woman’s Board with coordination and management of biennial Gala
Assist with planning Board and Woman’s Board meetings and activities
Act as primary liaison to Woman’s Board
Manage all fundraising events including invitations, sponsorship material distribution, guest list management, budget and logistics
Keep campaign records organized and updated
Create regular reports to keep staff and volunteer leadership apprised of all fundraising activities
Manage all gift entry and donor records
Prepare and create acknowledgment letters
Maintain current membership information, including updates of database and directory as
needed; coordinate new membership status and activities with Membership Committee Chair
Manage Board and Woman’s Board membership directories
Create and manage all mailed appeals
Oversee and manage grant schedule
Salary and Benefits:
Part-time position – 20 hours per week
Salary commensurate with experience.
Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of five years of experience in fundraising required
Event management experience preferred
Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite
Proficiency with fundraising databases, especially Raiser’s Edge, required
Ability to work evenings or weekends, as necessary
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of French language is desirable but not required
Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
Ability to work on multiple projects concurrently
Sense of humor and strong work ethic
Excellent written and oral communication
Desire to work independently in a fast-paced, flexible and diverse environment
