CORPORATE & FOUNDATION GIVING COORDINATOR
Family Shelter Service, a non-profit agency transforming the lives of those affected by domestic violence for over 40 years, is looking to hire an experienced Corporate and Foundation Giving Coordinator.
Our ideal candidate isa highly successful grant writer and strategic fundraiserwith excellent skills developing, writing and managing a comprehensive grant program from private and corporate foundations, as well as government agencies, including strong communication and relationship abilities.
This full-time (40 hours/week) position is a member of the Advancement Department, which leads the agency’s effort to ensure short-term goals are met and long-term financial stability is achieved. The Corporate and Foundation Giving Coordinator is responsible for increasing awareness and revenue by managing relationships with private foundations, corporations, corporate foundations, and government entities.
The position provides expertise to advance Family Shelter Service’s mission by researching, identifying, and soliciting sources of support; proactively seeking opportunities to generate new proposals based on prospects’ guidelines and interests, as well as maintaining strong communication with funding entities.
Duties and Responsibilities:
In conjunction with the Director of Advancement, designs, implements and manages a proactive grant strategy that expands and enhances foundation, corporate, and government relationships leading to monetary support, including sponsorships for events.
Leads and executes day-to-day management of comprehensive grant program including: researching, planning, outlining, drafting, and/or editing grant proposals; creating and maintaining comprehensive grant calendar; tracking and reporting key grant metrics; working with Direct Service Staff and Leadership Team to determine areas of need and projects; and facilitating the Grants Committee.
Develops highly competitive grant proposals that leverage diverse foundation and corporate goals that align with the agency’s goals.
Writes and submits grant proposals to government agencies. Produces reports for government grants as required.
Develops, implements and maintains stewardship strategies for foundations and corporations.
Maintains a thorough research effort to assess the giving patterns of local, regional, and national corporations, foundations and government entities.
Initiates opportunities for the Advancement Team, Executive Director, Board of Directors and/or Direct Service Staff to interact with funders, as appropriate.
Serves as Family Shelter Service representative at community events, as needed.
Assists with Advancement functions, as needed; local travel may be required.
Supervised by the Director of Advancement.
Establishes and maintains contact with corporations, foundations and government agencies.
Communicates and engages with Direct Service Staff, as appropriate.
Qualifications and Characteristics:
Education: Bachelor Degree Required.
Experience: A minimum of 5 – 7 years experience with grant writing and management, especially government grants. Must be detail oriented and have excellent communication (verbal and written), problem solving and organizational skills.
Technical: Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
Social Skills: Possess a positive attitude and the ability to take initiative, work independently and be a collaborative team player.
Leadership:Able to demonstrate professionalism, flexibility and good judgment.
Must have privately owned vehicle, valid driver’s license, good driving record and liability insurance. Travel between locations and partnering sites may be required.
Position may require some weekend and evening hours.
Must be able to operate general office equipment.
Must be able to life 25 pounds.
