Reporting to the Senior Manager of Development, the Senior Development Associate will work to achieve the organization’s annual revenue goals through impactful, creative strategies and tactics. The primary focus of this position is to strategically expand the base of individual supporters (with a focus on fundraising) by successfully engaging existing volunteers and product donors, identifying and recruiting new individual donors, developing and executing special programs to raise critical resources in support of the organization’s mission.
The Senior Associate also participates in an organization-wide engagement strategy to assure cross-team collaboration in support of the organization’s annual and long term goals.
The Senior Associate manages his/her own portfolio, which includes family/individual donors in the sub-$1,000 range. He/she will work closely with the Senior Manager of Development to support and strategically expand other fundraising initiatives. This includes identifying potential new donors, creating and executing cultivation opportunities and events, and ensuring that the Salesforce CRM is up-to-date with prospect and donor tracking information.
The successful Senior Associate will demonstrate expertise in the use of Salesforce, written and verbal communication skills, and will collaborate effectively with both internal and external constituencies.
This is a full-time position which often requires weekend and evening work in order to support development events.

Work with Senior Manager of Development, including preparing meeting materials, documents, and reports and ensuring that planning timelines are on track and deadlines are met.
Actively identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward a portfolio of individual supporters to help create a meaningful relationship with the organization.
Assist in the strategic planning and implementation of C2C’s development events and assure the fulfillment of supporter benefits, including preparation of a quarterly newsletter for supporters.
Collaborate with all members of the development team in planning and execution of special events.
Work with Senior Manager of Development in leading a cross-functional team to create holistic approach to successful donor engagement and C2C’s ability to maximize funding, in-kind product donation and volunteerism.
Identify new prospects and leads through research and execution of daily duties, including, as appropriate, scheduling volunteer visits to the “Giving Factory”.
Develop and lead efforts to identify and engage potential individual donors through proactive outreach and leveraging C2C’s engagement platform and warehouse visits as cultivation strategies.
Ensure that all volunteers and volunteer visits are accurately tracked in Salesforce.
Provide excellent customer service by responding in a timely manner to emails and phone calls.
Create and maintain timely information to support Cradles to Crayons’ engagement goals in the areas of financial support, product acquisition, volunteering and new relationships. Produce, as needed, reports and necessary materials to enable the development team to stay on track to achieve goals.
Participate and actively contribute to C2C’s organization-wide projects led by functional leaders in IT, Marketing, HR and Finance as assigned.
Develop good working knowledge of “Giving Factory” and community engagement operations.
At least three years of development experience related to individual/family giving is required.
Superior writing and editing skills and an extensive understanding of English grammar, spelling and punctuation.
Understanding of budgets and financial statements.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with CRM systems such as Salesforce or Raiser’s Edge and research tools such as Foundation Directory or GrantStation.
Experience in planning, managing and implementing events.
Strong interpersonal skills, ability to work with a wide range of people and self-confidence to reach out to a variety of external audiences.
Resourceful, entrepreneurial attitude with ability to work in fast paced environment and flexibility to work with individuals who have different work styles.
Ability to manage multiple projects and organize time with strong attention to detail.
Team player; demonstrate a positive and supportive attitude and willingness to work closely with the C2C team at all levels.

Ability to walk up and down stairs easily, stand for lengthy periods of time, bend and lift up to 20 lbs.
