Ensure the External Affairs team can execute annual fundraising efforts and accomplish its goals by managing a comprehensive set of development functions. The External Affairs Assistant will deliver a high level of quality control and implement best practices for gift processing procedures and data input into Raiser’s Edge, assist with logistics for all events and the annual benefit, and provide excellent customer service while interacting with various populations including Board Members, donors, volunteers, participants, and other Christopher House team members. Perform basic administration duties, including paper and electronic filing, word processing, answering phones, and greeting visitors.
Relationships with: Director of External Affairs, CEO, Staff, CH Donors, & Volunteers
Responsibilities: Under the supervision of the Director of External Affairs, the External Affairs Assistant will oversee and ensure high quality gift processing, timely gift acknowledgements, and maintain accurate donor data by completing routine updates to records in Raiser’s Edge. Monitor and collect outstanding pledges, recurring and matching gifts. Work with Grant Writer to ensure grant agreements, payments and report data is accurate and entered into Raiser’s Edge. Assist Associate Director of Communications and Special Events with all event and gala logistics. Ensure that External Affairs team keeps up with fiscal paperwork by collaborating with Finance Department on reconciliation, paying invoices, submitting credit card paperwork, reimbursements, etc. Attend Christopher House events, dinners and meetings, when appropriate.
Assistance to CEO and Director of External Affairs
Assist CEO and Director of External Affairs with various administrative tasks - including scheduling meetings with donors and board members; drafting communications; actively capturing tasks and actions in Raiser’s Edge; processing expense reports and travel reimbursements; and assisting with various projects as needed.
6.0 Education: High School diploma or GED required. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
