Erie Neighborhood House, a progressive social service agency serving the Chicago metropolitan area and dedicated to promoting a just and inclusive society, is seeking an Assistant Director of School Age Programs. Reporting to the Director of Expanded Learning Programs, the Assistant Director of School Age Programs is primarily responsible in the development, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the multi-site School Age Program, assuring high quality and innovative programming with COA, IDHS and DCFS standards for licensing are being met.
Oversees planning and implementation of a variety of diverse, culturally sensitive and enjoyable daily activities which meet Illinois State Learning Standards and NAA standards.
Provides supervision and support to program interns and volunteers assuring responsibilities are being met and program activities are running smoothly. Completes intern evaluations as needed.
Provides supervision to the kitchen staff and ensures compliance with ISBE food contract through menu review and ordering of food.
Assures completion and updating of educational, social service and health files.
Assists Director in annual completion of Licensing Review/Renewal, COA review, and QRS/Excelrate process.
Assists Director in annual calendar completion and field trip set-up.
Meets monthly with Director of Expanded Learning Programs for supervision and support, updating on staff/program issues/concerns and providing recommendations to resolve these.
Meets monthly with SAP Leadership Team (3 Site Directors, AD and Director). Hosts these meetings in place of Director when needed.
Meets with each site team as necessary.
Monitors staff improvement and evaluations in conjunction with SAP Leadership Team.
Participates in recruitment, interview, selection, orientation, and personnel file completion of all SAP staff. This includes fingerprinting and training for CPR- First Aid.
Ensures ongoing communication with parents. This includes working with the Parent Support Coordinator in facilitating the monthly youth program parent meeting, completing a monthly calendar of events, developing positive relationships with the parents, advocating for them, providing leadership and guidance techniques, assisting them in securing necessary resources, and encouraging them to participate in program activities, etc.
Participates in monthly all-agency meetings, retreat and other required agency or dept. meetings.
Other duties as assigned.

This position requires, minimally, a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education or a related field, with at least 18 hours in child development and/or other courses related to Education/After School Care
