Plan and implement the Helping Hand Annual Gala and the Annual Golf Outing
Plan each event from start to finish, including event site, target message and audience, coordination of all vendors, internal and external communication, sponsorships, and securing event participants.
In coordination with the Chief Philanthropy Officer develop and adhere to a budget for each event that results in maximizing net income for the events.
Provide a final evaluation report on each event that summarizes the revenues and expenses, evaluates the venues, measures actual performance against goals, make recommendations for ensuing years events and provides a comparative analysis of the past 3 years event performance.
Make recommendations for changes to event activities, including increased or decreased use of events to improve awareness of Helping Hand in the community and raise net funds for Helping Hand.
In coordination with the Chief Philanthropy Officer develop and implement a strategy to develop, maintain and foster key relationships in the community that strengthen the visibility, image and fund raising capacity of Helping Hand.
Develop strategic alliances with other Helping Hand community organizations to promote Helping Hand and increase brand awareness.
Develop and maintain strong working relationships with donors, prospects, businesses, key volunteers and other partners.
Develop a strategy to advance community giving opportunities by partnering with existing fund raising activities where Helping Hand may be the beneficiary.
Maintain and develop the Corporate Sponsorship program to support the annual events conducted by Helping Hand.
Cultivate community and individual sponsorships that leverage the efforts of staff with community resources.
Maintain accurate donor and marketing contact database and assist in the ongoing maintenance of the database.
Assist with the grant process at Helping Hand by helping to identify and communicate potential grant opportunities.
Special Event Fundraising Experience (required)
2-5 years proven success in professional fundraising, with demonstrated experience in corporate sponsorship and event planning
Experience working with volunteer committees and nonprofit boards of directors
Excellent oral and written communication skills
High energy, team-orientation, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude in a demanding environment
A strong work ethic and a proven record of working independently and achieving results
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and fund-raising software
Flexibility, creativity, a sense of humor and an entrepreneurial spirit
