The Grant Writer works in collaboration with the Director of Development in researching, developing and submitting private sector and federal grant proposals to current and new funding sources in order to obtain support for activities related to NNHSC’s mission and clinical programs. The Grant Writer also implements other methods of raising funds for the organization.
Research metropolitan Chicago and Illinois foundations and major and local corporations for potential program funding according to the objectives of the Development Department.
Create successful grant proposals and interface with Director of Development regarding the proposal development process to include editing and coordination of supplemental materials to meet funding agency requirements. Work with Department Directors in the submission of program and financial information for grants, fiscal and reporting requirements.
Develop and nurture relationships with Foundation/Corporation representatives in order to obtain funding.
Maintain agency mailing list and gift records on Development department database, assist with the development and coordination of special events, and other related duties.
Bachelor's degree and experience in grant writing - preferably in the nonprofit sector required.
