The Associate, Events and Family Support is responsible for supporting the efforts of the development team for success and growth of fundraising events and programs in assigned territory, including chapter/volunteer management as well as those tasks that will ensure the success of the mission of Cure SMA.
Manage all special events (including walks, dinners/galas, golf tournaments, and endurance programs) within assigned territory
Recruit, manage, and train local volunteer coordinators
Adhere to best practices
Generate event revenue and growth strategies
Meet revenue and expense goals to generate participant, sponsorship, and in-kind growth
Manage all administrative tasks related to events (including mailings, reporting, and marketing/promotions)
Travel within territory for cultivation and planning meetings, and fundraising events
Maintain relationships with current chapter leadership and local members
Effectively delegate and accomplish goals through the recruitment and development of volunteers
Ensure that clearly defined volunteer positions and responsibilities are utilized for each of the events and for assigned committees
Regularly communicate appropriate plans, activities and benchmarks with volunteers
General Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Answer incoming phone calls for Cure SMA National Office as needed
Ensure effective use of Cure SMA resources
Actively participate in required education programs and meetings
Perform other responsibilities as assigned
Includes travel by plane, car, train.
Attendance at a one-week Annual Conference is required.
Work is generally performed within an office environment with standard office equipment available.
Minimum Education: Bachelor’s Degree from accredited college or university preferred
Job Experience: Experience in fundraising events and volunteer management preferred.
