Francis W. Parker School is a renowned JK-12th grade independent day school. We are seeking an Assistant Director of Admission for Outreach and Recruitment to support increasing diversity according to Parker’s mission, ethos and established goals. Francis W. Parker is founded on the belief that diversity enriches learning and a diverse community benefits everyone. The underlying philosophy of the Parker Office of Admission and Financial Aid is to connect with individuals, schools and community organizations in order to develop relationships and provide information about Francis W. Parker School with the goal of enrolling a diverse group of mission-appropriate students.
The Assistant Director of Admission for Outreach and Recruitment will help identify and implement outreach efforts to prospective students and families, feeder schools, community and professional groups and partners in the Chicagoland area. The Assistant Director will build relationships on behalf of Parker that strengthen the targeted applicant pool leading to the potential enrollment of qualified students from a multiplicity of diverse backgrounds. The Assistant Director is to be an outstanding ambassador on behalf of Parker. He or she will be responsible for identifying and developing new relationships as well as maintaining existing relationships. The Assistant Director will help identify mission appropriate candidates that will contribute to the enhancement of diversity within the school community, and support those candidates and their families through the admission process to potential matriculation.
Support and work as a full team member with the Admission and Financial Aid Team in implementing departmental and school goals
Develop a research agenda to support departmental goals for outreach and recruitment
Conduct research and report on local and national demographic information and trends
Work with the Director of Admission and Financial Aid to create and implement an Outreach and Recruitment Plan outlining clear strategies for targeting diverse groups of students to cultivate interest in Parker admissions
Research, assess, visit and report regularly on feeder schools and other groups and identify new sources of diverse prospective applicants
Build, manage, enhance and maintain relationships with schools, counselors, community and professional groups and organizations leading to greater interest in the Parker admission process
Identify admission recruitment opportunities and attend speaking engagements, school fairs and presentations as well as manage Parker-hosted outreach and cultivation events
Provide timely responses to a high volume of admissions queries via personalized emails, phone calls, and walk-in inquiries with knowledgeable, accurate and appealing information
Manage the recruitment calendar and steward inquiries
Maintain tracking, project management and benchmarking information on outreach and recruitment
Develop and manage a network of volunteers to support recruitment efforts
Assist with the development of targeted publications and admissions collateral
Research, maintain and present accurate data on targeted schools and groups including demographics and recruitment information and activities
Provide detailed and consistent communications and accountability on all field activities
Assist Admission Directors in identifying desirable candidates for admission (full cycle: inquiry to enrollment)

Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in related field preferred
At least 3 years of school Admission Office outreach and experience, including marketing and communications
Experience working in a JK-12 educational environment
A working knowledge of progressive education and community engagement strategies
Extensive experience working with diverse populations in the Chicago educational community
A solid understanding of JK-12 independent school culture and the systemic dynamics affecting under-represented students and families in independent schools in Chicago
Superior interpersonal skills with the ability to work with a wide variety of diverse populations
Experience planning and executing successful events
Experience in trustworthy managing confidential information
An established network of relevant educational contacts in the Chicagoland area
Demonstrated success at managing constituency relationships
Highly organized, collaborative and communicative work style
Ability to establish priorities and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
A sense of urgency and awareness of critical dates and deadlines
Demonstrated proficiency with computers and technology: Word (detailed mail merges), Excel, PowerPoint and Gmail; experience with constituent, lead development or project management software; a working knowledge of social media
Strong presentation skills including qualitative and quantitative information
Proficiency with Ravenna, Blackbaud, InfoSnap (or comparable database)
Spanish speaking proficiency strongly preferred
Ability and willingness to travel in the Chicagoland area as needed
Flexible, with the ability to work evenings and weekends when needed
