The Life Skills Instructor position develops meaningful and skill based curriculum and provides case man-agement to people receiving services. The Life Skills facilitates a variety of group activities daily that promote personal growth of people served in the program, and is responsible for developing and overseeing the implementation of the Individual Support Plan for people served attending the program. Using the community, through community connecting, vocational experiences, and community volunteerism is a key function of this position. The Life Skills provides direct supervision to direct support professionals, and is directly responsible for the over-sight of services and supports to people served within the CLC. The Life Skills Instructor is expected to uphold the Mission & Values of the Association.
Bachelor Degree in social services preferred and at least 1 year of direct experience working with adults with developmental disabilities. Strong supervisory experience a plus. Excellent oral and written skills are essential. Must be clear on all checks of the Health Care Workers Registry and a valid Illinois Driver’s License. Must be at least 21 years of age. Must be able to lift and transfer adults (75lbs.)
