Community Health Partnership of Illinois (CHP), a non-profit organization that provides primary health care to migrant farmworkers and other medically underserved populations throughout northern and central Illinois, is seeking a dedicated individual who is looking for an opportunity to make a difference in the health of a community in need.
The Behavioral Health Program (BHP) Coordinator is responsible for developing, implementing and evaluating CHP’s organization-wide mental health/substance abuse outreach and education program - with a strong emphasis on addressing the current Opioid crisis - tailored to meet the learning styles and priority needs of migrant and seasonal agricultural workers and other rural, largely Latino populations served by CHP. The Behavioral Health Program Coordinator also develops, manages, and provides/arranges professional development training to assure that CHP’s health care providers and clinic care teams 1) are well versed in mental health/substance abuse services and resources available to CHP patients, and 2) successfully integrate mental health/substance abuse services in their assessments and treatment plans, as appropriate.
A minimum of a bachelor's degree in the social sciences, communication, or related field.
Professional experience working in the behavioral health field.
Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) and demonstrated cultural competency.
A valid driver's license, reliable vehicle and willingness to travel regularly throughout CHP’s service area (northern and central Illinois)
Computer proficient with demonstrated proficiency using Microsoft Office software (particularly Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
Strong written and oral communication and listening skills including the ability to communicate effectively in different settings (with co-workers, partner organizations, health care providers, community members) via phone, email and face-to-face in groups and one-on one.
Able to work with both small and large groups of people with diverse backgrounds.
Able and willing to work flexible hours when needed to meet program goals and objectives including some evenings and weekends.
Location of position may vary, with one weekly travel to the Chicago Office foreseeable.
