Chicago Commons Association is hiring homecare aides for Dupage County
ESSENTIALDUTIES&RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to the following. The company reserves the right to add to, delete, change or modify the essential duties and responsibilities at any time.
Plan and prepare meals, perform routine housekeeping chores and tasks
Clean kitchen and bathroom
Laundering client’s linen and clothing
General home maintenance and repairs
Changing light bulbs and batteries in smoke detectors
Assisting with self-administered medication
Reminding client to take medication; reading instructions or utilization
Assisting with personal care tasks i.e. shaving, shampooing and combing hair
Assisting with bathing, dressing brushing and cleaning teeth and dentures
Assist with the appropriate use of equipment or supplies (canes, wheelchairs, etc) when transferring a client from the bed to a chair or to and from the bath or toilet
Assisting the client with range of motion (such as sitting up or standing)
Escort client to medical facilities, shopping and errands or individual business as specified in the plan of care
Performing/assisting in essential shopping or running of errands that may include handling the client’s money
Complete all required paperwork
Attend all required trainings, supervisory and staff meetings
Other duties as assigned by direct supervisor
OTHER FUNCTIONS: The Company may assign other functions to the job at its discretion.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
High School graduate or GED equivalent or experience in care for a dependent child or adult family member
PHYSICALDEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to speak English, specifically, to communicate both in person and over the telephone. The employee must regularly be able to read English proficiently.
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision requirements include the ability to see at close range.
Must be able to pass physical examination, including a drug test, if the test is deemed appropriate
