The Administrator of Student Information and Data Systems maintains and manages the PowerSchool software system, as well as related student information and data systems. This professional works to ensure the functionality and security of data related to the PowerSchool software system and collaborates with IT and Academic staff to improve the network’s utilization of PowerSchool and related systems. As a result, our organization will understand and use data through effective systems to monitor status and progress on individual, class, school, and system levels and informing decision-makers as to the effectiveness of proposed and implemented strategies to drive outstanding educational opportunities and outcomes for all students.
Ensure the reliable performance of PowerSchool and related Student Information Systems.
Document and analyze software requirements from all stakeholders of the PowerSchool software system and develops strategy to meet accepted objectives
Design, test and supervise projects to implement new PowerSchool features
Document and resolve incidents related to the PowerSchool software system
Monitor and maintain security of the PowerSchool software system and PowerSchool related data including timely management of PowerSchool software system credentials
Install new software releases and system upgrades, and evaluates and deploys patches for the PowerSchool software system
Administer databases with PowerSchool related data
Integrate PowerSchool related data with additional data sources to support organizational objectives
Support additional software as assigned
Management of Student Information and Assessment Systems
Collaborate with other teams, departments, and school leaders to design data collection systems to obtain information in the proper format to allow for efficient and effective collection, management, reporting, and analysis
Monitor systems to ensure accurate, “clean” student information and assessment data
Suggest any needed student information system changes to enhance ability to store and report key data trends
Support and Training of School and Organization Leaders/Teachers to Build Data-Driven Decision-Making Capacity
Develop and deliver trainings to school and organization leaders to empower them to use information and assessment systems more effectively
Provide ongoing technical assistance and troubleshooting for school and organization leaders and teacher leaders to ensure that any problems or questions are resolved in a timely manner
School and Organization Performance Analysis and Reporting
Develop key performance indicators in concert with Acero schools and organization leaders to track progress for students, teachers, schools, centralized departments, and systems
Provide integration, tracking, and analysis of data for central organization functions to improve effectiveness and efficiency of operations
Analyze school and student performance trends at all levels to provide insight into strengths and areas for improvement
Provide focused school performance analysis and reports for internal and external requests (including funders, school districts, etc.)
Work with school leaders to generate individualized student profiles/plans for teacher and parent use, including progress reports and report cards
Nature of work requires an ability to operate standard business office equipment. Requires ability to communicate and exchange information, collect, compile and prepare work documents, set-up and maintain work files. Physically demands require the ability to stand, bend, reach high and low, stoop, and walk around the classroom 60% of the day. In addition, walking up and down stairs several times a day. Must be able to lift 15 to 20 pounds for short periods of time and push and pull 15 to 20 lbs.
Majority of work performed in a general office environment. Position requires availability for extended hours plus non-traditional hours required to perform job duties. Also requires participation and attendance at organization-sponsored events and meetings.

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent (required)
Master’s degree (preferred)
Experience managing educational data for a school system
Proven track record for innovative and effective data analysis and research
Advanced coursework in statistical analysis; education statistics preferred
Experience using student information systems (e.g., PowerSchool), statistical analysis software (SPSS), relational databases (SQL Server) and/or reporting tools (Tableau, SharePoint, etc.)
