Responsible for supporting and assisting in the development and implementation of all aspects of fund development from major donors related to LCIF’s mission, grantmaking, and programming areas. Maintain and expand current LCIF major donors identify new prospects through research, cultivation events, and networking. Will draft proposals and conduct solicitations with major donor prospects and in collaboration with foundation staff and leadership.

Maintain a solid understanding of humanitarian global development priorities, as well as major gift responsibility best practices and trends.
Develop a thorough understanding of LCIF’s mission, grantmaking areas, available program data from grant reports and the unique role of Lions club volunteers in LCIF’s major program areas and initiatives
Responsible for soliciting gifts of $25,000 and higher from members and non-member friends.
Manage relationships with approximately 100 prospective donors and will be expected to identify, qualify, cultivate, solicit and steward these very important members and friends of the foundation.
Works collaboratively with and in support of officers, trustees, volunteers, and other development staff to cultivate and solicit donors for foundation priorities.
Monitors all prospect contacts to ensure positive and purposeful prospect and donor relations.
Draft and develop communications materials including creating customized solicitation materials such as letters of request, proposals, donor identification forms, donor/partner recognition brochures, letters of intent/pledge cards, etc.
Must be a highly energetic professional with a track record of building donor relationships and closing gifts in the five and six-figure range.
Reports to the Chief Development Manager and works collaboratively and strategically with the LCIF Executive Administrator and other association and foundation staff.
Domestic and International Travel required approximately 5% travel time.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
BS or BA from a four-year college or university or equivalent combination of education and experience
Minimum of 3-5 years professional fundraising and/or program development or related experience
Experience with major gift fundraising and proposal preparation preferred
