Cure SMA is seeking a Development Manager who will cultivate, solicit, and steward a portfolio of corporate partners to achieve annual revenue goals. S/he will develop and implement a national corporate development strategy aimed at driving increased revenue by securing new partnerships and strengthening existing relationships.
Reporting to the Vice President of Development, s/he will work closely with Cure SMA’s Marketing, Communication, and Events & Family Support departments to identify prospects, secure sponsorships and corporate partnerships, and determine recognition plans.

Other Duties and Responsibilities
Prospect, cultivate, solicit and steward corporate and corporate foundation prospects.
Develop strategies for prospecting corporate contacts utilizing Cure SMA’s constituencies including volunteers, event participants, vendors, database, Board Members, etc.
Secure corporate sponsorship support and establish corporate partnerships on regional and national levels.
Conduct sales calls, in person meetings, and exploratory meetings to generate new partnerships
Serve as relationship manager for a portfolio of corporate sponsors and prospects
Identify and execute the necessary cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship activities necessary to maintain and grow support from that portfolio.
Coordinate sponsors renewals and upgrades
Build and maintain relationships with existing corporate sponsors, including pharmaceutical companies, through various cultivation calls, letters, meetings, emails, and handwritten notes.
Year-round cultivation and stewardship of existing corporate sponsors
Write and edit proposals, reports, correspondence, event collateral and other documents for internal and external audiences.
Serve as the lead for Cure SMA’s workplace giving programs, Community Health Charities, and other giving programs. Includes identifying prospects and managing outreach to corporations with workplace giving programs.
Maintain accurate records of sponsor cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship activities
Set benchmarks and strategies to meet and exceed revenue goals
Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum of 3 to 5 years progressive experience in nonprofit development with experience cultivating significant gifts and stewarding large partnerships.
Proven experience working with corporate sponsors; including outstanding ability to establish relationships, make asks, and thank appropriately.
Self-starter, motivated individual with the ability to set goals and take action to achieve goals.
Able to prioritize, schedule, and monitor multiple projects.
Able to establish strong collaborative relationships and work with others in a cooperative and effective manner.
Able to work and communicate with a wide range of internal and external constituents.
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Salesforce, and Luminate Online with the ability to extract and analyze data, run reports and queries.
The Development Manager, Corporate Sponsorship will maintain accurate records of sponsor and gift information managing all information with the highest professional and ethical standards.
The position requires strong analytical, communication, and negotiating skills, good judgment in making decisions independently, and an ability to establish and maintain positive professional working relationships with a wide range of internal and external partners.
Work is generally sedentary in nature, but requires walking, sitting, traveling, and occasionally standing, bending, reaching, lifting boxes, and unloading supplies. Requires ability to lift 25 pounds or less.
