Erie Neighborhood House, a progressive social service agency serving the immigrant/Latina community in Chicago and dedicated to promoting a just and inclusive society, is seeking a full-time Health and Leadership Programs (HLP) Coordinator. The mission of the department is to promote a culture of health and encourage Erie’s staff and participants to become leaders in the movement for community wellness and equity. Reporting to the Director of Health and Leadership Programs, the Coordinator’s basic function is to ensure that all daily operational tasks of the department are being executed efficiently and thoroughly, with special focus on the health education programs for children and youth.
Coordinate, plan, and co-facilitate health sessions and curricula for preschool, school-age children, and youth
Access and purchase all materials for programs
Serve as site supervisor for interns working with preschool health program
Coordinate the schedules of HLP volunteers and short-term interns
Assist with coordinating and implementing advocacy work, when appropriate
Prepare for and facilitate HLP parent groups, as needed
Coordinate all staff health efforts for Erie House staff
Participate in all HLP department meetings
Participate in Erie’s Coordinators group
Help with all grant proposals and reports under guidance of the HLP Director
Maintain ETO database for all children and youth health programs
Other related duties as assigned

Qualifications and Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in public health, social work, psychology, or related field required.
Bilingual in Spanish/ English and bicultural preferred
Prior experience working with children and understanding of child development preferred
Proficient in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Excellent written and interpersonal skills
Experience working with an immigrant population
Ability to lift boxes up to 25 lbs.
Driver's License preferred as position will require traveling to different sites and/or purchasing for program
Flexibility with work schedule as position WILL require some evening and/or weekend hours.
