The Development Manager will help the National Association of Charter School Authorizers (NACSA) double the number of quality charter schools by 2025 by securing financial contributions that enable to the organization to grow and expand. By managing NACSA’s grants program and actively helping to grow the organization’s philanthropic contributions, s/he will be a key player in meeting the organization’s ambitious fundraising goals.

Quality authorizing is essential to ensuring that charter schools can play a vital role in providing better educational opportunities to children across the country. We work to improve authorizing by building an evidence base to inform best practices among hundreds of authorizers nationwide, shape state charter policies, and develop the growing authorizing profession.
ROLE AND MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
Serve as the written voice of NACSA.
Serve as the primary voice of fundraising by developing and writing communications for funders including letters of inquiry, proposals, reports, and email and newsletters communications
Work closely with the Vice President of Development & Operations to set the vision and direction for each written piece, incorporating knowledge of donor motivations and collaborating with other teams to translate NACSA’s work into compelling, qualitative “stories of impact”
Help to manage and grow NACSA’s grant program.
Manage the grant calendar, ensuring all proposals and reports are submitted on time and with high quality
Research prospects and think creatively and out-of-the-box about new funding opportunities
In partnership with the Vice President of Development & Operations, identify and execute stewardship opportunities for funding prospects, and cultivation opportunities for current funders
Regularly track progress to goal by managing up-to-date records on current and prospective donors
Collaboratively engage Board of Directors and National Advisory Board through meetings and other tactics.
Partner with President and Vice President of Development & Operations to set vision and direction for Board engagement
Execute logistics for all Board meetings
The Development Manager will report to the Vice President of Development & Operations.
