Children’s Home + Aid is excited to be expanding its partnership with East Side Aligned to better meet the needs, and build on the strengths, of East St. Louis families. The Social Emotional Learning Coordinator is a critical member of a high-level team of leaders, and oversees the implementation of Social Emotional Learning practices in the East St. Louis School District 189.
SEL Coordinator responsibilities include:
Provide training, consultation, and technical assistance for school and district personnel to ensure effective implementation of SEL practices in District 189.
Regularly meet with school leadership and staff to identify and address concerns and opportunities surrounding the promotion of the SEL model.
Collect and track data to monitor the impact of SEL integration into current District 189 practices; adopt lead role in collecting and analyzing bullying data.
Actively engage in a community-wide collaboration to reduce youth violence and victimization.
Engage in community outreach aimed at increasing awareness of the SEL framework.
Bachelor's degree in Education, Social Work or related field required; Master’s Degree preferred.
Experience working in an urban educational setting preferred.
Illinois teacher certification or PEL endorsement in social work or counseling preferred.
Familiarity with SEL practices highly desirable.
Excellent organizational and time management skills required.
Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, required.
Demonstrated skills in effective collaboration and creative problem-solving.
Valid driver’s license, auto insurance, and reliable transportation are required.
