The Glenview Public Library seeks a creative, innovative, self-starter with strong interpersonal skills to head its Communications Department. Responsible for the development and execution of a comprehensive PR/marketing plan to effectively communicate the Library’s vision /mission to the community. Maximizes awareness of the Library, its programs and services, using both traditional print media and social media sources. Coordinates the Library’s central exhibit and display areas. Conceptualizes, plans and implements adult cultural enrichment programming. Plans and manages special Library events. Excellent written and oral communication skills essential to create extensive portfolio of marketing materials and weekly/special press releases. Assumes sole responsibility for all aspects of the Library’s quarterly newsletter. Networks with members of the Glenview business community. As a member of the Library’s Management Team, is responsible for budget development and strategic planning for the Communications Department. Supervises the Library’s full-time Graphic Designer and part-time Project Coordinator.
B.A. or B.S. degree in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing or a related field; five or more years in a related environment, preferably non-profit, at least two of which was in a management position.
