We are now hiring for a full-time Benefits Specialist to join our General Office (GO) and Human Resources Team!
Essential Job Functions:
Monitors all aspects of the agency’s benefits program. Ensures employees have complete and timely access to offered benefits including but limited to life, medical and dental, accident and disability, worker’s compensation, 401(k) and pension plans. Assist employee in filing health, dental, life, FSA, LTD and other related benefit claims.
Keeps abreast of all aspects of relevant employment law and mandated benefit requirements. Acts as consultant on these issues to all levels of agency staff.
Collaborates with HR Managers and supervisors regarding catastrophic sick bank and LTD.
Conducts benefit presentation at all staff orientations at G.O.
Develops on-going relationships with benefits vendors and third-party administrators
Prepare and analyze a wide range of HR internal and external benefits reports.
Run feeds to benefit carriers, set up system for annual benefits open enrollment and update Benefits Specialist as needed.
Process and maintain all status reports and pay changes as it related to benefits and deductions
Administer COBRA and maintain records as it related to COBRA eligibility.
Assist employees in filing health, dental, life, worker’s compensation and other related claims.
Verify the calculation of the monthly premium statements for all group insurance policies and maintains statistical data relative to premiums, claims, and costs. Resolve administrative problems with the carrier representatives.
Assist Director of Human Resources in obtaining statistics and information in renewal process of any Health, Life and Retirement plans that benefit the company.
Performs all other duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business or related field required
