The Community Outreach Manager provides leadership to the growing Community Outreach programs including PAWS for Life, Community Cats, and Pet Food Pantry. This position leads the expansion of the PAWS for Life program into an additional neighborhood as well as help manage the burgeoning intern and volunteer programs that support Outreach work.
PAWS for Life works on the ground in underserved communities of Chicago to remove barriers to access pet wellness resources, with a focus on spay/neuter. This data-driven program directly reaches the most underserved areas of the city through door-to-door outreach and building positive relationships with pet owners. Community Cats empowers and supports our city’s feeders of stray cats, transforming them into fully-informed, active, registered colony caretakers, and reducing the overpopulation one of our city’s most vulnerable animals - outdoor cats. Using these strategies, the Outreach Department is making strides towards a no-kill Chicago, keeping pets in their homes, reducing overpopulation, and empowering pet owners with the resources and information they need to make the healthiest decisions for their pets. The Community Outreach Manager will help oversee the daily operations and continued growth of the programs.
Social work background, master’s degree in social work preferred.
Valid driver’s license.
