The purpose of this job is to provide Behavioral Health Counseling Services (chemical dependency & mental health treatment), assessment, and referral to individuals infected with and/or impacted with HIV or other chronic infectious disease in the context of a patient centered, integrated care treatment facility.
Substance Use screening, assessment, and referral
Provide individually tailored treatment plan to meet specific patient needs
Coordinate patient care with other CORE/CCHHS services or collaborating community agencies
Provide Behavioral Health on-call and consultation services to clinics, inpatient CCHHS and other service areas
Conduct initial substance use intake and provide Intensive Out-Patient Services (IOP)
Provide Psychotherapy & Counseling and Inpatient CCHHS
Conduct Initial Behavioral Health Assessments and Psychosocial Screenings in CORE Clinics and Inpatient CCHHS
Maintain superior quality patient care
Maintain level of productivity to meet established standards
Utilize supervision and training toward optimal service provision
Administer and/or support all research related functions as assigned
Maintain superior professional conduct and accountability
Adhere to all Behavioral Health Counseling Services, CCHHS and CORE Center/Hektoen policy and procedures
Minimal Education Required or Preferred: Masters Degree required. CADC, MISA I/ll, and or MAATP certification as required and HIV related experience required.
Minimal Length and nature of Experience required or preferred: Minimum 1-3 years or more of Mental Health & Substance Abuse treatment services with 2 years of MAT experience if required.
Licensure, Certification, and or registration required or preferred: MA, MSW with LSW or LPC required with clinical license (LCSW, LCPC) pending within 6-8 months of hire. CADC/MISA/MAATP certification required within 6 months of hire. Professional Insurance Coverage appropriate for services provided.
Specific knowledge and skills required or preferred: Good verbal and written general communication skills and specific clinical documentation knowledge/skills. Strong interpersonal skills and willingness to be a team player. Willingness to learner and flexible in incorporating new techniques and skills. Basic computer skills: word processing, medical programs, database maintenance. Ability to function autonomously as a Behavioral Health clinician and as a team member on a multidisciplinary team, excellent oral and written communication skills, problem solving and conflict resolution skills. Knowledge of HIV/AIDS and family issues, commitment to confidentiality, ethics, and a culturally sensitive approach to counseling are required. Experience working in primary care medical settings desirable. Clinical interviewing experience and use of DSM-5 required. Bilingual competence in English and Spanish a plus.
