We are now hiring for an full-time Director of Development to join the GO Team!
Develops and executes engagement opportunities and strategies for assigned major donors - board members, individuals, family foundations, organizations, corporations, law firms and events, to increase giving. Develop new prospects for major gifts, event sponsorships and planned gifts.
Manages Legal Aid Society’s current portfolio of generous funders and identify and cultivate new funding relationships.
Supports Metropolitan’s advisory boards, fundraising and membership committees as assigned through strategies, planning, agendas, minutes, meeting notices and related activities.
Leads annual fundraising efforts in conjunction with leadership staff and key volunteers for assigned events including setting and monitoring budgets, recruiting honorees and host committees, soliciting and tracking sponsorship and event program planning.
Works with event staff on logistics leading to successful outcomes.
Supports Center leadership and volunteers as assigned to analyze and successfully execute increased funding plans.
Participates in annual fund appeals as assigned through strategy, planning and execution.
Participates in the planning and execution of greater fundraising effectiveness, use of systems and cohesiveness of the External Affairs team.
A degree from an accredited college or university.
Seven years of experience in a nonprofit setting.
Successful record of soliciting and securing funds from individuals, foundations, and law firm or corporate donors.
Demonstrated competence in development, including board development and support, annual fund and major gift stewardship and solicitation, proposal and appeal writing, event fundraising, moves management, and strategic planning.
Critical and strategic thinking skills.
Exceptional oral and written communication skills and a proven ability to inspire and engage a variety of donors.
Competence in MS Word programs and Raisers Edge.
