About the Organization:
The mission of New Moms is to express the love of God by surrounding young moms and their children with all they need to transform their lives. New Moms is a 34 year old nonprofit organization, with a budget of about $3 million and a staff of about 40, focused on serving young moms in Chicago and the near western suburbs. New Moms’ model provides a comprehensive range of services to young moms and their children including supportive transitional housing, workforce development, early childhood services, and parenting support and education. New Moms’ headquarters is located on the west side of Chicago in the Austin neighborhood. Our social enterprise, Bright Endeavors, which provides paid transitional jobs for young moms, is located nearby in the West Garfield Park neighborhood. We also have an office in Oak Park serving the near western suburbs.
About the Job:
The full-time Employer Engagement Specialist (EES) position is an integral team member of our Workforce Development Program team, which provides intensive skills training, career planning, paid transitional job through our social enterprise Bright Endeavors, and quality job placement services. The EES is responsible for cultivating relationships with employers, deepening those relationships, and making quality job placements within those employer partners. He/she is works as part of a larger team to ensure the success of participants so they can maximize the training, coaching, and job placement and retention supports available. This position is Full-Time located at our main office in the Austin neighborhood and will involve travel to our social enterprise, Bright Endeavors, in the Garfield Park neighborhood. Salary: 38,000-40,000 depending on experience.
Develops and implements a business outreach plan that will meet the needs of employers staffing needs and participants obtaining quality jobs.
Maintains on-going relationships with employers and visits work sites to monitor participant progress; addresses any barriers or concerns and supports participants with potential advancement opportunities.
Researches and understands industry trends and employment needs and adapts to changing markets.
Assesses participants’ skills and matches participants with developed jobs based on skills and career goals.
Assists participants in obtaining quality jobs with advancement opportunities including but not limited to: job search, coordinating access to career outings, job fairs, and other hiring events.

The successful candidate will posses:
Commitment to the mission of New Moms.
A bachelor’s degree in human resources, sales, communications, or business development, at minimum.
Proven track record of a sales-related approach to procure and maintain new employer accounts and quality job opportunities for participants.
Advanced computer skills including use of Word, Excel, and other electronic data bases.
Position requires utmost integrity; ethical behavior and appropriate business practices are expected.
Strong interpersonal and communications skills, and ability to work both collaboratively and independently.
Commitment to advancing as a professional in the non-profit sector.
