As part of the team, you will assist in enhancing the collection, enrichment, maintenance, management and syndication of AMA data that optimizes current usage and enables new business uses of these data assets. Develop consistent and timely analysis of metrics and key performance indicators, scorecards and trending reports that lead to informed business decisions and reflect the true state of AMA data assets. Perform analysis and quality checks that assist with the mapping and tracing of information from system to system in order to solve a given business or data problem and to eliminate the potential of erroneous data loads to the Physician MasterFile. Assist with the coordination of multiple projects and process flows, under the guidance of management. Contribute to division data collection efforts via the statistical targeting of physician populations and selecting survey medium of greatest benefit to AMA database products.
Other responsibilities will include:
Assist and initiate data analysis when necessary, providing reports on procured data to ensure that monthly benchmarks for data procurement and quality are met. Maintain the integrity of the Physician MasterFile through the administration of programs and systems used to interrogate the quality of AMA physician data.
Devise internal quality checks and standards that will facilitate with the identification, tracking and reporting of data discrepancies or issues for resolution by multiple primary sources and to ensure compliance with AMA- developed standards.
Support the Data Management group and overall Health Solutions team through insightful data analysis and the development of analytical reporting, including subject areas of data quality, business rule adherence, source file processing timeliness, and data fitness of use.
Work with management to develop and implement new strategies that contribute to improved data quality utilized by internal/external business partners.
BS in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Information Systems or a minimum of four years of data analysis experience required. Advanced degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field highly desirable.
Basic analysis skills; familiarity with traditional analytical tools, such as SPSS/SAS, UNICA, Business Objects, Tableau etc.,; able to manage and integrate insights and establish monitoring around multiple internal data sources, such as AMA MasterFile, Enterprise Data Warehouse, customer database and purchased/appended data if available.
Strong statistical analysis capabilities and ability to correlate survey activities towards areas of weakness within the AMA Physician MasterFile. Evaluate the efficacy of data collection efforts, and redploy as necessary to ensure strong result and return on investment.
Familiar with SQL in the extraction and manipulation of datasets.
Must possess the ability to communicate technical and/or complicated processes to non-technical staff.
General knowledge of transactional, ETL, data warehouse, data mart, and operational reporting solutions a plus. Any experience with the following tools is desirable: IBM DataStage /QualityStage, Information Analyzer, Informatica Business Glossary and PowerCenter, Aqua Data Studio and Tableau.
Strong organizational skills and project management experience. Must have the ability to prioritize tasks on multiple highly visible projects. Some background with process improvement techniques desired.
Ability to work in a multi-tasked environment with potential for rapidly changing priorities.
Any experience with or basic understanding of newer database structures and models such as NoSQL, Hadoop, Marklogic and Cassandra, a plus. Basic to advanced programming skills highly desirable.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to interact effectively with various levels of internal management and with external vendors.
