Join the AMA team that is dedicated to the betterment of public health as the Senior Quality Assurance Analyst in Periodical Publishing. As part of the team, you will be responsible for end-to-end testing of all software applications and products. You will maintain detailed and up-to-date inventory of test scripts that document the expected functionality of all core products for The JAMA Network and The Education Center. Additionally, you will be responsible for triaging bugs and tracking each bug to a timely correction. A key accountability is maintaining high levels of satisfaction with both internal and external stakeholders of the digital products and services. You will ensure that bugs and defects do not inhibit the growth of online readership, citations, advertising sales, and the institutional business.
Other responsibilities will include:
Perform full user acceptance testing and regression testing for each release of The JAMA Network and The Education Center products. Author test scripts for existing and new products and maintain a library of documentation around results from each test. Report all defects to developers in a timely manner.
Author release documentation for each new release of The JAMA Network and Education Center. Assist product management, marketing and sales to inform customers of upcoming changes to products. Responsible for the timely authoring and distribution of release notes documenting all defect corrections and new enhancements to all products. Maintains an online repository of final documentation available to internal employees for reference and triage of downstream issues.
Manage day-to-day support for The JAMA Network and the Education Center. Ensures bugs, tasks, and other requests are handled efficiently and within quality standards. Responsible for internal and external levels of satisfaction with the support process.
Assist with training on new feature and system releases for internal employees. Provide training outlines, documentation, and supporting materials. Assist product team members in providing the training and guiding internal employees as they familiarize themselves with new products and services.
BA or BS required. An advanced degree preferred but appropriate experience can substitute for this requirement.
Minimum 5 years’ experience with technical writing, authoring software documentation, and communicating in written form about software to a wide-ranging audience.
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in developing and managing quality improvement strategies for electronic information products.
Experience preferred in STM publishing industry or medical education industry, with advanced knowledge of health science research and clinical periodical business models and online content production practices.
Experience with quality assurance automation tools and Python or other scripting languages preferred.
Proven track record in the responsibilities above and of improving software products through quality management.
Demonstrable communication, project management, problem solving, and quantitative analysis skills.
Able to express complex business and technical concept effectively, both verbally and in writing. Prepare written business document and experience in presenting and communicating key concepts and ideas across all areas of the organization.
