The YWCA of Metropolitan Chicago, a 21st Century, business-savvy, social enterprise committed to “Eliminating Racism and Empowering Women,” is seeking a BILINGUAL FOOD PROGRAM ADVISER (CONTRACTUAL) for the YWCA Early Childhood Services - Child and Adult Care Food Program, located at our Parks Francis facility at 6600 S. Cottage Grove in Chicago. This is a part-time, contractual position, reporting to the Program Coordinator.
The YWCA Child and Adult Care Food Program is designed to provide aid to child care institutions and family day care homes for the provision of nutritious foods that contribute to the wellness, healthy growth and development of young children. The Bilingual Food Program Adviser (Contractor) assists the Program Administrator in monitoring and training program participants in the program requirements.
Travel within 50 mile radius to service Cook, DuPage, Kane and Will counties
Completing trimester visits/training to participating providers as assigned.
Conducting 4-week follow-up visits as required.
Providing technical assistance to providers as necessary during trimester visits regarding accurate record keeping and programmatic elements.
Providing nutritional education to providers, as assigned
Participating in annual nutrition trainings.
Attending regularly scheduled program meetings or trainings during the program year.
High school diploma; AA in related field preferred
One - three years experience in nutrition training or in early childhood related fields
Effective verbal and written communication skills; bilingual abilities a plus
Own transportation and proof of auto insurance
Ability to travel within Chicago and suburban areas
Ability to work independently
