St. Coletta's of Illinois Foundation is currently seeking a Director of Development. This individual would be responsible for providing leadership in the development of the overall fundraising plan, assuming responsibility for developing corporate, foundation, and individual giving both annually and through special campaigns and public relations.
Supervises and manages all operational details of the Development Department including staff selection, training, and evaluation of performance
Responsible for all corporate records and compliance
Is the corporate liaison for the Board of Directors and organizing Board meetings and Board functions
Responsible for organizing and attending parent association, event, and committee meetings
Plans, coordinates and manages all fundraising activities
Develops an overall fundraising plan based on both long and short-term objectives
Develops effective strategies that penetrate the various levels and avenues of giving
Responsible for the development of a deferred giving program that addresses the long-term needs of the organization
Effectively develops and manages capital campaigns and other specific fundraising drives
Manages donor base through computer system
Develops external relationships in all phases of the community, especially related to participation and membership in various civic organizations
Enhances public relations through creative materials developed on the desktop publishing program
Maintains departmental budget and financial tracking system for gifts and donations;
Writes, prepares and supervises grant preparation
Enhances public awareness by addressing and speaking to groups and churches
Participates in various agency committees as required
Attends and conducts all in-service training
Participates in and supports agency fundraising events
Qualifications 1. Proven supervisory skills. 2. Five to ten years experience in fundraising at all levels, with at least five years at the director level in a major organization 3. Bachelor's degree in a related field required, Master's degree preferred.
