We are looking for a Workforce Elevation Trainer that is committed to supporting individuals in total transformational change.
The Workforce Elevation Trainer performs a variety of functions related to recruiting, intake, assessment, program delivery and retention of participants in workforce elevation programs offered by Bethel New Life.
This individual is responsible for preparing participants for successful transition into entry level career opportunities in high potential industries as identified through Bethel New Life “West Side Forward>” Initiative through the delivery of employer readiness’s training and academic enrichment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION:
Deliver employer readiness curriculum weekly to participants; Teach all areas of secondary curriculum in Reading, Language and Math using adopted curriculum and Precision Teaching techniques.
Deliver curriculum in accordance with established syllabus and lesson plans in alignment with employer/career readiness goals.
Plan, prepare and deliver lessons that cater to the needs of a variety of ability ranges
Assess and enroll eligible applicants for WFE training programs
Conduct intake and exit process (to include informational session, orientation, testing and pre/post evaluations) for the WFE programs.
Prepare trainees for entry level employment in industries as identified through West Side Forward> Initiative.
Track and document participants’ attendance, eligibility, assessments and achievements through the life cycle of program acceptance.
Identify and connect participants to continuing training and supportive resources available to meet the needs beyond the scope of Bethel New Life programming.
Assist with recruitment and retention efforts for program participants.
Coordination of Workforce Development Training
Develop syllabus for training programs based on subject matter content and department criteria to including learning objectives and expected outcomes.
Implement evaluation process for outcomes assessment, and achieve established results while maintaining Bethel New Life standards and workforce development policies.
Assist in assuring program deliverables are met according to funder expectations.
Maintain accurate records and documentation of all training materials and supplemental resources.
Administration of Learning Center
Maintain roster of enrolled participants and individual academic enrichment plan.
Accurately maintain attendance records; separate record of attendance and progress for individual participants.
Maintain all materials required for effective delivery of individual academic support through learning center.
Bachelor's Degree in education, counseling or other relevant degree; or a minimum of 4 years of experience working with adults in career development, job development or job placement role.
Must have work experience within the last 5 years in career development, job development or job placement.
Certified in adult education (or certifiable) strongly desired but not required.
Experience coaching and mentoring adults through career transitions.
Ability to develop basic curriculum and lesson plans.
Strong understanding of career and technical programs and all the components within.
Excellent verbal and written communications skills, including a demonstrated ability to write clearly and persuasively and to make effective public presentations.
Ability to establish clear objectives, monitor progress, and achieve workforce engagement goals within designated parameters.
Proficient with technology, web-based applications and Microsoft Office, and experience using client management database systems
Highly motivated, self-starter with a high degree of initiative, enthusiasm, and ability to be flexible and work independently.
Must have ability to effectively manage time and prioritize projects
Excellent attention to detail and ability to exercise discretion
Ability to be a passionate and effective advocate for BNL, its mission, and vision
Car and valid Illinois driver’s license and insurance required.
Must be available evening and Saturday presentations.
