The DuPage County Health Department is seeking a Counselor/Therapist to join its Behavioral Health Services, Forensic Services team. This position is full-time (37.5 hours per week) and may require occasional evening hours.
Providing individual and group psychotherapeutic services to individuals involved in the probation system
Collaborating with staff from the DuPage County Probation Department to engage adults in services, with the goal of reducing recidivism
Determining frequency, duration and intensity of treatment, and developing treatment plans
Providing and following up on referral and community resource linkage
Participating in team meetings to assess client progress, as well as, collaborating with other healthcare providers to assure linkage to necessary services
Completion of a Master's degree in Psychology, Social Work or related field and two years of experience working with the chronically mentally ill adult population; or an equivalent combination of training and experience; licensure (LCSW, LCPC, LMFT) also required.
The preferred candidate will have experience and/or knowledge of working with chronically mentally ill adults who are involved in the criminal justice system, as well as experience working with adults with dual mental illness and substance abuse disorders.
