Youth and Young Adult Intake Specialist
Thresholds, Illinois’ oldest and largest provider of mental health services, is seeking an Intake Specialist to oversee all referrals to our youth and young adult programs. This person will be responsible for answering calls, returning emails, screening referrals, scheduling and conducting interviews, completing intake documentation, and making referrals to the proper program. Responsibilities also include assisting members with insurance enrollment, providing community education to potential referral sources and psychoeducation to youth and their families, and maintaining a data tracking system.
The ideal candidate will process strong customer service skills, along with excellent written, interpersonal, and communication skills. Must be well-organized and able to multi-task. A minimum of two years of experience working with youth, young adults, and families, a Master’s degree in Social Work or related field and an LPC or LSW is required. LCSW or LCPC preferable. Must have regular access to a reliable vehicle and maintain a valid driver’s license.
MARGINAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
May be required to work a flexible schedule and be available evenings and weekends.
Performs and participates in crisis intervention when necessary
Must meet Office of Mental Health standards as a Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP): Must have a Master’s degree in counseling/guidance, rehabilitation counseling, social work, vocational counseling, psychology, pastoral counseling, support system, therapy or related field and have completed a practicum or internship totaling 1000 hours or one year of work experience under a QMHP.
Candidates meeting rule 132 standards as a Licensed Professional in the Healing Arts (LPHA) are preferred.
Minimum of two (2) years working with youth, young adults and families
LSW or LPC required; LCSW or LCPC preferred
Computer skills required; knowledge of database functions and maintenance necessary.
SKILLS/CERTIFICATIONS and OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Licensed Professional in the Healing Arts (LPHA) are preferred.
Valid Driver’s License and daily access to a personal vehicle is required. Must obtain and maintain $100,000/$300,000/$100,000 liability insurance coverage. Subject to validation every 6 months.
May be required to provide transportation for members of the program using a Thresholds provided vehicle or personal vehicle. Must be 23 years of age and must meet all insurance carrier’s requirements. Subject to annual Department of Motor Vehicles license verification.
