The Children's Advocacy Center of North and Northwest Cook County, located in Hoffman Estates, seeks an experienced professional to conduct forensic (investigative) interviews of suspected victims of child sexual abuse, severe physical and other crimes. The bilingual forensic interviewer will work as part of a multidisciplinary team with representatives of law enforcement, the Department of Children and Family Services, the Cook County State's Attorney's Office, child advocates and medical and mental health professionals. The interview of the suspected victim of abuse is observed by the multidisciplinary team. Forensic interviewers are responsible for preparing interview summary reports and may be required to testify in criminal trials and DCFS appeal hearings.
The Bilingual Forensic Interviewer will be responsible for on-call after hours coverage on a rotating basis for situations requiring an emergency response.
Other duties may include providing individual and family counseling for child survivors of abuse and their non-offending family members, facilitating support groups for non-offending parents and therapy groups for child survivors of abuse, providing crisis intervention services, and assisting the Center's Advocates in coordinating treatment referrals with mental health service providers in the community.
Master's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling or similar degree with professional experience in the assessment and treatment of child victims of abuse, maltreatment and/or other forms of family violence. Fluent in Spanish and English.

The Children's Advocacy Center of North and Northwest Cook County (CAC) is a not-for-profit organization established in 1989 to serve child victims of sexual abuse, and their non-offending family members. The Center serves children and families in 38 communities in North and Northwest Suburban Cook County. CAC works with local law enforcement agencies, DCFS, the State's Attorney's Office, and medical and mental health professionals to provide a comprehensive, coordinated multidisciplinary response to reports of child abuse.
