The American Medical Association (AMA), the nation’s largest professional Association of physicians, has a dynamic opportunity for the right individual. As Major Donor and Fundraising Program Manager, you will plan, develop, and implement AMPAC major donor fundraising programs including special events and membership benefits. You will also coordinate AMPAC Board member fundraising activities, increase AMPAC visibility in AMA publications, and produce communications vehicles to promote all levels of AMPAC membership.
Minimum five years of experience working with political action committees or equivalent experience in political fundraising or membership programs. Experience with organizations with affiliated entities.
Minimum five years’ experience in federal or state political campaigns, direct marketing, advertising or association membership programs. Emphasis on major donor programs and fundraising events is essential. Capitol Hill and Washington, DC experience preferred.
Minimum three years’ experience developing, writing and executing fundraising and promotional materials for multiple candidates or state-based programs.
Superior written and oral communications skills required. Five years of written communication experience in a professional environment.
Extensive experience working with direct mail and marketing vendors and contractors.
Skilled at managing multiple projects and meeting tight deadlines.
Strong computer and management skills required, including database, mail-merge and budgetary programs.
Knowledge of Federal Election Commission regulations pertaining to political action committee fundraising required. Experience complying with new Congressional Ethics Guidelines required.
Willingness to travel.
